Roots

Roδēa began where most good things begin – in a place, and in memory.

I grew up in Tuscany, where craft is not an industry but an inheritance, a region shaped by generations of artisanal tradition. Later, I found myself captivated by Greece. Roδēa carries both places in its bones – architecture, symmetry, aesthetics, light, stillness, a life that refuses to be rushed. The unhurried pace of the Mediterranean, the deep craft memory of a Tuscan region that has been working leather and willow for generations. Two worlds that share the same conviction: that the things worth having are the things made slowly, made well, and made to last.

The name holds a symbol. The delta – δ – appears in our mark as a nod to our story, and as something more. It signifies change. Transformation. The moment something becomes what it was always meant to be. It is the shape of becoming, and it is at the heart of everything we make.

Every Roδēa bag is handmade entirely in our Tuscan workshop. From the woven willow, to the stitched leather, to the gold-finished brass. No two bags are alike. Each bag takes weeks to complete by hand. Made to be used, kept, and passed on.
